From refinishing and repairs to complete restoration of a classic cruiser, MSC can do it for you. Woodworking and varnish is the easy part. Engine and drivetrain, electrical and plumbing, steering and safety systems are the hard part, and what we do best. We adhere to ABYC reccomendations while rooting out electrical gremlins, tracking down a misfire in your antique engine, re-powering with a new engine, or replacing the electrical system in your boat.
Our Restoration Process
If you have a specific problem or need, we will dive right in and get it fixed. If we only have symptoms to investigate, we methodically track down the source with our decades of experience. All work is estimated and guaranteed to be completed within our estimation.
Evaluation
Stem to stern we inspect every piece of wood for structural integrity. Engine and drivetrain are evaluated along with all other systems that keep your boat operating safely. Finish, hardware, and upholstery are also evaluated for historical accuracy and functional integrity.
Observations and solutions
We will discuss the specific issues that brought us together while keeping the entire project in mind as a whole. We will discuss solutions that make sense for you and the preservation of your boat.
Estimate to completion
All work will be estimated and photo documented in real time throughout the process until completion. We are always available to talk while your boat is in our care. Visits to see the progress in real life are also encouraged and appreciated.

We use modern methods and materials with years of experience and supplier contacts to efficiently complete your project or find that missing hardware for you.
varnish and paint
Bottom painting, topside painting, varnish, stain matching, deck seam repairs, transom gold leaf, waterline painting are all easy for us to do. We have extensive knowledge on chemical compatibility between finishes, adhesion and surface preparation, and application process for all marine finishes.
